Song has been playing in my head.....

Wednesday, June 20, 2007

About a week after I bought Christopher Moore's A Dirty Job, I finished reading it. It's quite a funny read actually, and I totally enjoyed reading it. Part of the ending was predictable, but there were a few that I went "interesting". Overall, I would recommend this book.

Weekend was quite normal, nothing too special. Watched some friend's ice hockey league game on Friday and Monday. They lost friday's game with a minute or so remaining, but the more than made up for that on the Monday game. Total Domination would best describe the game. Oh, Monday's game was held at quite a far and ghetto arena, it's called Icebox. And its at 215st and 108Ave. haha...wayyyy west.

Silver Surfer

Watched Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer. Pretty good movie, if you compare it to the first movie. It got me entertained. I didn't read the comic, so I can't comment on how well it was protrayed with respect to the comic, but taking the entertainment value of it, its an enjoyable movie. They showed the Harry Potter trailer before this movie, it was the first time I saw that trailer, and it actually looked quite good. I didn't like book 5 that much, so we'll see if I liked the movie. I wouldn't bother reading the 5th book again.....

Summer is all about watching movies I find. Although there's a lot of outdoor activities that can be done, but yet, all the good blockbuster movies seem to come out during summer time, tempting us all to spend money indoor instead of enjoying summer for free, hmm..marketing scheme perhaps?

Speaking of Marketing, I started my night class marketing course. It'll run from June 12 to July 21st. Most of my classmates are older working people, this will be an interesting course.

One of my friends started his own blogspot a few days ago, I wish him good luck with the world of blogging, It can get quite addicting.

Song playing currently on my Itunes: Saber Rider Theme...ah good times. For those of you who don't know what that is..here are a few pics that might jock your memory a little.....

I watched this when I was a kid, man it sure brings back good times, time to search for it on youtube when I am done with this entry.....

It seems like my job situation is still a work in progress, people do not like picking up their phones and what not around here it seems. More job applications are going to be made tomorrow it seems like. Is looking for a job really that hard? I really wonder sometimes....

Was basically at home the whole day today, but was out for a bit earlier in the afternoon on an errand. A relative is going back to brunei, so obviously there are stuff to be sent back to my brother including the grad photos from last year. We sent a batch by mail once, but it got lost i reckon cause my parents never got it. Let's hope this batch gets there safe and sound. Also, I saw a chinese movie

It literary translate to black fist. But the official title is Fatal Contact. Its a martial art movie. Very typical, nothing special except for the fighting I guess. The ending was not what I expected. So that was a pleasant surprise. Otherwise, a very forgettable movie.

July 14th seems like it'll be a busy night. I am invited to a friend's going away party, and today I found out I was invited to another friend's bachelor party on the same night. I will not miss the going away party for sure as he is a close and good friend, but also, I haven't seen my friend who's getting married for a long time, so I'll just have to make a little time for him =) Congrats to him by the way on getting married! =)

Here I am, Wednesday noon time, not knowing what to do, and feeling the urge to somewhat write something. haha, I woke up today being worried, about my job situation. Did I not put enough effort into applying jobs? Am I applying for the wrong jobs? Why aren't I getting any replies? Why do I feel like I am so lazy? And with that in mind, I got off my bed, came to the computer, and went on workopolis.com and applied for more jobs. I have a sinking feeling that those might all be in vain, but we'll see what happens. Right now, the thought of going back to brunei actually doesn't sound too bad.......

I played my first 18 holes in golf on friday. It was a 5 hour round. Really exhausting, expensive and fun. I enjoyed it a whole lot! But i'll need more practice and my own golf set if i want to actually do well. That will come if i find a job.

Also played a card game called Bang! on Saturday. It was a fun game to play, somewhat munchkin like, but not really. Highly recommended card/board game.

Bought a book yesterday....

Got a few recommendations to read this book, so I bought it. Read the first couple chapters, was quite funny, so I have the urge to go on reading. I'll write about how it is after I am done. Funny how I start a book when I have to start school....sigh, only me...

Went to some of my friend's convocation the last 2 days. Just taking pictures and what not. Really reminded me of when I convocated, it was a fun filled day of just taking pics and what not. Its a happy occation as awell as the dread of finding a job if you haven't already. After sitting through the 2 hours or so of hearing ppl's names, it's always great to come outside to take pictures with family and friends.

Last night, i went to a friend's going away/graduation thing. I've known her for a bout 4 years or so now. Got to know her while volunteering for International Students Orientation a.k.a. Transitions. Those were really fun days, and something I'll never forget for a long long time. Hope You have fun with your future outings and Good luck.

Also Last Night, I went to watch....

This was so much better than Ocean's Twelve. Maybe because I went in without much hype, unlike the 2nd installment. All in all, I enjoyed watching this one, laughed a bit with a bit of what the heck? So i recommend this if you have been watching the francise.

With that said, time for an updated movies to watch list(those I really intend to watch)
Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer
Knocked up
Transformers
Live or Die Hard
Good Luck Chuck
Harry Potter and the Order of Phoenix
Surf's up

Well, it looks like the Ducks won the cup this year. Third year in a row a canadian team made the finals but failed to bring it home. It's ok, I believe the Oilers will bring it back sometime!

Go Oilers Go!!!

Finally had the urge to write...haha..been lacking it lately....

On Thursday, I finally went for an actual Rollerblading run, well, at least on my own standards, the friend i was with complained we didn't go long enough, but heck, it's been almost 2 years since I've actually rollerbladed, my stamina was crap. Gotta get back into shape ish. We made the committment of going twice a week. Tuesday and Thursday. However, it was not meant to be today as it was slotted to rain today and friend had to wait at his parent's home for air conditioning..haha, let's hope we get to go on thursday, i am going to try to be fit for once..haha

Friday was a chillaxing day, don't remember what i did in the morning, but I picked up a friend at 6 from her work and we went to see the guys play hockey for their league. They won 10-5, a very convincing victory. Went to eat at brewsters after and played some PS2 and poker afterwards.

Saturday, chilled at home most of the day and played wii at my cousin's house which was quite fun and tiring for some reason....

Sunday was fun, played football in the evening time..that in itself was quite fun, got the exercise in, and was amusing too. hahaha, afterwhich was a bbt session with some other friends where i got to eat some strawberry icing cream cheese(i think) cupcake baked by a friend! it was good!

Monday, I went to watch Shrek 3 in the afternoon, it was quite funny...although not as good as its predecessors, but not bad nonetheless. After which i got home and had dinner, it was after that that i got a disturbing phonecall from a friend and raced over. Turned out that one of her students died in a car accident in the weekend on a highway. It was really sad. Life is fragile, we should not take it for granted.

And that's where I'll end it this time.....take the time to appreciate the people around you...it's one thing for them to know they are appreciated, it's another telling them that you appreciate them.
