Sitting here in the Hotel Room, with no inclination to go out... It has been a very tiring 3 weeks of vacation and I think I am drained.

As many of you know, it has been 5 years since I've gone back home. There are very subtle changes for everyone, we, as a whole group, might not seem anymore mature than when we graduated from Form 5. But, individually, I think we have all matured and it was great seeing everyone =)

We had a lot of discussions naturally, and one that really stuck to me was that, this was the first time in a long time where mostly everyone who had gone out of brunei to pursue an education and a career returned. We all agreed that no matter how long we've all left, in the end, this place is Home. It might not have a lot to offer, but there's something about it that would make you want to extend your stay longer. No matter how long we've all left Brunei, there's a part of us that want to return someday.

Having said that, there's a part of me who would like to venture back here. I guess it is time to venture and see what kind of opportunity i would have, should I really decide to come back here....

until then, its time to focus and concentrate on life now. Let's see what happens....

5 Years

It has almost been 5 years since I’ve last went back to Brunei. Seriously, time flies by way too quickly sometimes, I can still remember all the things I did when I went back last time. Hiking, late night food run, clubbing/karaoke/chatting till 7am, movies at “the mall”, getting my driving license in Brunei, etc. and speaking of which, I have no flipping clue where that driver license is now. Oh well, guess I’ll have to re-apply for one or maybe use the one I have here.

Now, I am about a week away from making my trip back, and I am excited as hell! And on top of that, it will be the first time in about 10 years that I am back in Asia for Chinese New Year. It is just different here; the atmosphere is definitely not the same! Although having 3 weeks off will drain my vacation bank, but hell, it’s definitely worth it.

I remember booking this vacation a couple months back thinking that it will not happen for a while. And now, here I am, thinking it’s only a week away. Woot!

I can hardly wait to stuff my face! See family members and my dear friends! Now, when I was booking my flights, that stupid kid didn’t try and blow up an airplane yet, and travelling through the United States was a great idea. But nooooo, he decided to try and blow up an airplane making life a lot harder for the rest of us!

But seriously, no carry-ons? Isn’t that a little TOO much? Check everything I have in the carry on if you have to, but to inconvenient long distance travelers, bah humbug! Good going kid!

This past weekend, I was at the Druid to celebrate a couple friends’ birthdays. A friend nailed it right on, when she uploaded some pictures and named the album 18 all over again. It actually felt like it; however, the following morning would be named, “I am too old for this”. Overall, a fun weekend and enough time for some rest on Sunday. 5 more working days before my scheduled trip, time to think of what to pack.

Motherland, Here I come!
